I remember going for long Sunday drives living in rural Wisconsin, and seeing houses like these dotted along the countryside. I would always feel a twinge of sadness inside. I would imagine the house full of life with lights glowing in the windows, or children running around in the front yard. How sad and empty the house must be, now that it is deserted and left to rot in nature. Quietly standing with its haunting beauty. So many of us resemble these deserted farmhouses. We desert our dreams and goals. We give up on ourselves and everyone around us. We no longer care to maintain ourselves. We watch as people we love give up on us and leave one by one. Until we are left with just a shell of what used to be. The laughter and love that once filled our every room and echoed down the halls, now gone. Leaving nothing but cobwebs and broken windows in our soul. As empty as you feel, you are still standing. As broken as you feel, you are still solid enough to weather the storms that come your way. Your foundation as solid as ever. If you would just show yourself a little love and begin to fix what is broken, room by room, you will one day find yourself as beautiful and strong as you once were. You will once again allow others to fill you up and create more beautiful memories. Beautiful as ever.
I'm glad you stopped in to check it out! My purpose in creating this blog, is to give insight into how a positive outlook can overpower a negative life. It all starts with self-respect. I'm angry at myself for wasting so many years on things that weren't important in the end. Forgive yourself for doubting yourself. Work your mind. The mind gives power to the body. My hope is to help someone to believe in themselves again.
